Open Enrollment for the 2013-14 school year will be open February 4, 2013 - April 30, 2013 at 4:00 pm.
What is Open Enrollment?
Open enrollment, also known as School Choice, is Wisconsin's public school program which allows parents to apply for their children to attend school in a school district other than the one in which they live. If parents already have a child attending a school district through open enrollment, they must apply for each additional child in their family as they become eligible.
Who May Participate?
Students in 5-Year Old Kindergarten through Grade 12 and who are Wisconsin residents.
Open enrollment for Pre-kindergarten, 4-year old kindergarten, and early childhood education is limited. Please contact Michelle Falkinham at FalkinhamM@bdusd.org or (920) 885-7470, ext. 1116 to find out if your child qualifies.
How and When May Parents Apply?
The recommended method of applying for open enrollment is through the on-line application process on the Department of Public Instruction's website (http://sms.dpi.wi.gov/sms_psctoc) during the open enrollment application period. Parents may complete a paper application and submit it to the district they wish for their child to attend (non-resident school district) during the application period. The application period for the 2013-14 school year will open at midnight on February 4, 2013 and close at 4:00 pm on April 30, 2013.
