Leaders in teaching and learning.

Partners Are Learning (PAL) Program

Established during the 1992-93 school year, the Partners Are Learning (PAL) Program provides one-to-one tutoring and mentoring to elementary school students through the use of community volunteers. Students who will benefit from this individualized academic assistance are recommended to the program by their classroom teacher and school principal. Volunteers follow teachers' lesson plan to assist the students with their particular assignments in math, reading, spelling, writing, and social studies.

Program Mission

The purpose of Partners Are Learning is to improve school performance of at-risk students by providing one-to-one tutoring through community volunteers, and to improve the student's attitude toward learning with the aid of a positive role model of the volunteer mentor.
