We thank you for visiting our school site for the Don Smith Learning Academy. The mission of the Don Smith Learning Academy is to provide students with a uniquely supportive environment which will enhance their employability, and maximize their academic and social growth.

Our educational focus is centered on four areas:

• Academics: students receive instruction in the core academic areas of reading, writing, math, science and social studies.
• Career Development: students create a career plan, build resumes, practice interview skills and learn what is required for them to pursue their career of choice.
• Life Skills: students graduate from the Don Smith Learning Academy prepared for life as adults. Students learn how to live on a budget, find an apartment, purchase a car and be a responsible citizen.
• Personal Improvement: students are taught life-long learning skills, conflict resolution, goal-setting strategies, physical/emotional wellness and self advocacy skills.
