Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer our students the opportunity to complete college level work while still in high school.  In accordance with the College Board, we believe that all students willing to accept the challenges and opportunities associated with the AP curriculum should be allowed the opportunity to do so.  Students wishing to enroll in an AP course must complete all necessary courses leading up to it, attend a mandatory AP information meeting, and complete the AP Commitment Form.  Students taking AP courses are expected to take the associated AP examination(s) in May.  According to their performance on the examination, students may receive college credit for each examination they take.  It is important to note that the colleges and universities award credits associated with successful exam performance.  Policies do vary from school-to-school or department-to-department within those schools.  Credit will be granted to all UW System institutions for scores of 3, 4, or 5.  Please consult the high school Student Services Office for credit information on specific schools or departments or click on the following link http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/apcreditpolicy/index.jsp.  Information is also available for out-of-state institutions.

Note: The cost of the exam should never deter a student from taking an AP course.
