Welcome to Beaver Dam High School!
My name is Mark DiStefano and I am proud to call Beaver Dam my home and honored to serve as the principal of Beaver Dam High School.
Our school community is home to over 1000 wonderful students, a dedicated staff, a network of supportive parents, many passionate alumni and the supportive citizens of Beaver Dam. We are committed to improvement on behalf of the children we serve and embrace the associated changes necessary to remain progressive in a continuously changing world.
In the last several months, we have undergone significant transformation to position our students for the best opportunities possible when they graduate from our tradition rich institution. Driven by the guidance of our district dashboard and goals, as well as the expectations of our community as a whole, we have increased the number of advanced placement course opportunities for our students, infused a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiative and adopted a flex scheduling model that maximizes student opportunities and increases preparedness for high-stakes testing.
The future is promising for the students of BDHS. In the next year we will initiate our new schedule, work diligently to create a significant influx in new advanced technology to advance learning, expand our extended learning opportunities for students, enhance our ACT preparation programming, work to add two new advanced placement course opportunities, expand our STEM initiative and continue to work diligently toward our district dashboard goals.
