Day 1

TO STUDENTS:

  1. Happy Birthday today to Oliva Garris (6) & Jenna Helmbreck (8), tomorrow to Emmaline Cournoyer (6), Luis Martinez (6) & Marley Roberts (8) and on Sunday to Rosemarie Keiner (7).  Some more summer birthdays are Tara Wanie (6), Alejandra Galvan (8), Adriana Prudente (6), Brandon Stancer (8), Miranda Vossekuil (7), Caitlin Yerges (8) & Jessica Espinosa (7).
  2. Today’s lunch menu is Pasta Bar or Salad Bar, Potato, Vegetable, Fruit & Dessert.  Sandwich Line is a Cheeseburger or Fish Sandwich and Campus Cuisine is Cousins subs.

  6. All next year 7th & 8th grade football players; there will be an informational meeting next Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 a.m. in the auditorium.  Everyone interested should plan on coming to the meeting and signing up.  See you there!  (MWood)
  7. 8th graders – sharpen your pencils and continue the tradition!  The 80th annual Mary Spellman Math Competition will be held in the auditorium at 2:50 on Monday, May 21.  Please bring a sharpened pencil with you.  No calculators will be allowed.  See you there!  (KMichels)
  8. The 2012 yearbooks are here!!! You have one last chance to purchase one! You can view the yearbook and place your order in the cafeteria before school on Thursday, May 31st, Friday, June 1st, or Monday, June 4th while supplies last! The cost is $15. The yearbooks will be distributed at the end of the day Friday, June 1. (SBindl/SLundin)
  9. Attention yearbook staff members: The yearbooks are here! We will begin sorting and labeling them on Monday, May 21st after school! Please meet in Ms. Bindl's room right after school if you are able to help. (SBindl/SLundin)
  10. Monday, May 21 at 3:15 is the last book club meeting. Our selection for this month is Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. We hope to see you there! (JVinz)
  11. We are holding a book exchange!  If students want to participate in the book exchange, you can remember to bring in gently used books. You can then exchange them for different books to take home.  If you bring 3 books you will get 3 different books to read over the summer. You can give your books to your Reading/English teacher or to Mrs. Vinz in the library. Books will be collected May 21-25. The exchange will be May 31 & June 1.  (JVinz)

TO STUDENTS:

  1. More summer birthdays are Audi Puleo (6), Madison Brown (6), Kaleb Poor (8), Carlos Sepulveda (7), Reese Zimmerman (6), & Bradley Puetz (7).
  2. Today’s lunch menu is a Meatball Sub or Taco Bar, Potato, Vegetable, Fruit & Dessert.  Sandwich Line is a Grilled Chicken or Corn Dog and Campus Cuisine is a Hot Pocket.

The Builders Club is having a Tootsie Pop sale through tomorrow.  Participating teachers will sell the suckers for $1 each, and you will be allowed to eat them in the classroom.  All proceeds will go to a school in Africa to help them build a well for fresh drinking water at their school.  Be prepared!  Bring your $1 tomorrow.  (SKalinosky)

Congratulations to all of the Box Top/Labels for Education winners!  The winners were Ms. Hahn, Mr. Huebel, Ms. Hanson and Mrs. Hankes.  They received a treat in their homerooms yesterday.  Continue to save Box Tops and Labels for Education over the summer.  We will have another competition in the fall.  (SKalinosky)
