Happy New Year!
I hope your holidays were enjoyable! We are back at it at South Beaver Dam and getting ready to complete our first semester in the Beaver Dam Unified School District. This month we will be completing several assessments with the students in order to track their academic progress and continue to inform our teaching. The MAP assessment will be done again with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in reading and math. We are also piloting something called AIMSweb in several of the classrooms here. This screener helps us determine where students are performing in reading and math in comparison to their peers and with students their age nationally. We use this information to inform our teaching and provide the best supports for our students based on their needs.
The picture you see was taken right before we left for the Holiday Break. The students are wearing a T-shirt that represents our three time School Of Recognition Award. What a great way to celebrate that wonderful accomplishment!
