Wisconsin School of Recognition
2011-2012
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of the school year! Even though the end is near, the building is still hopping. We will be doing our last set of MAP testing with the 2nd-5th grade students in Reading, Math, and Language. We will also be assessing students with our AIMSweb assessment that we are piloting this year. This is a screener that helps us know how students are performing in reading and math. All of this data helps us to know how well a student is doing in these curricular areas and what we need to continue to work on with your children.
Since there was not a snow day this year, our last day of school will be Tuesday, June 5. I also wanted to remind you of the Teacher Appreciation Potluck the PTO is hosting on Friday, May 11. If you have not sent back your reply, please do so soon so the PTO can plan food accordingly!
Finally, as some of you may have already heard, I will be leaving my role as principal of South Beaver Dam Elementary School at the end of this school year. Starting in the 2012-13 school year, I will be the principal at Lincoln Elementary School. This will be bitter-sweet transition as I have truly enjoyed the three years I spent here. The staff, students, and parents of SBD have been great to work with. Thank-you for the years of wonderful memories I will always treasure from South Beaver Dam. I will miss you all!
Sincerely,
Kathy Lehman
Principal SBD
